Hector de-Souza

and his OAK R&B Band

The official website of

There are different kinds of weddings and our clients should indicate that from the onset. The kind of wedding chosen by the client is accompanied by songs that suit the kind of wedding chosen. We may delineate eight kinds of weddings:

1. Country wedding                                              6. Jazz/Blues Wedding
2. Christian wedding                                            7.  A classical wedding
3. Romantic                                                           8. A pop wedding
4. R&B wedding
5. Rock n Roll wedding

The setting for the ceremony differs from these weddings: Bar, beach, lakeside, mountain, chapel Boat. Sometimes, they may borrow ideas from other types of weddings. Our duty is to understand the needs of our clients and work meaningfully and patiently with them to give them the music that should reflect the moods they want to conjure to make the occasion romantic, sanctified surreal, and memorable. Wedding styles may also overlap.

The Ceremony:

At this point, details have already been worked out by the events coordinator is there’s none or with the couple. The band is split into two. A singer will be accompanied by a keyboard player and a guitarist.  We want the lyrics to be audible. The bride and the groom have a lot of passion for the songs that will be chosen. We want them to hear those words clearly. Songs for the ceremony are songs that say “I love You” such as songs by Luther Vandross, Anne Murray, Louis Armstrong, Billie Ocean, Patsy Cline, Dan Hill etc, etc.

The Reception: (Special Dances, and Party Songs Requested Songs)

Its a party that takes place after a wedding ceremony where the bride & groom and their guests gather to celebrate the union. The married couple loosens up to have some fun. The songs are broken into different categories here. We choose songs to match the dances.

First Dance- for the newlywed.
Father + Daughter.
Best man and his partner
Mother + Son
Bride + Bridegroom
Grandfather + Granddaughter
Grandmother + Grandson

After all these and after special dances and songs have been fulfilled, the band then plays party songs for the guest to entertain them. The band will provide professional equipment wherever they are required. Songs for the Reception may be songs by Prince, Bruno Mars, Kool and the Gang, Stevie Wonder, The Temptations, Michael Bubble, etc.

The Band Spruce’s Up

If you want the band to appear at the wedding ceremony + reception well spruced up in Tuxedos, or in ties, our guests have to tell us ahead of time so that the extra service charge is discussed. The Band has Professional Instrumentals. We can easily move our equipment andsetup in a yard, a banquet hall, a park or on a beach. We need a power supply for outdoor ceremonies and receptions.
